FireHUD Strategically Rebrands as SlateSafety

As of today, October 20th, 2021, we announce the strategic rebrand of our company from FireHUD to SlateSafety in order to broaden our brand’s focus to the connected safety industry as a whole.

From our early years, when we brought that first small team together, we’ve been passionate about bringing intuitive technology into spaces not historically known for being cutting edge. From our first heads-up-display (HUD) to our recent arm-worn wearable, the emergency service and public safety partners have been fantastic to work with. They’ve helped us develop a strong knowledge base from which we’ll continue to leverage into the future building rugged, easy-to-use solutions that, dare I say, will continue to be “firefighter proof”.

As we’ve grown, we’ve found jobs with similar circumstances to those that first drew us to the fire service — jobs underserved by technology that are disproportionately put at risk for physiological incidents, particularly heat stress and overexertion. For all these jobs, people work in large teams and endure physically demanding work with little oversight in challenging environments. These are all jobs where preventable injuries occur daily.

So now a new chapter begins with renewed focus and vigor. We plan to build a company that is focused on eliminating preventable worker injuries and deaths by creating systems that usher in a new era of connected worker safety, and ultimately, empower leaders to take safety into their own hands.

I feel our VP of Growth, Chris Ward, sums up the strategic rebrand nicely when he says “The idea around SlateSafety is exciting. The SlateSafety brand will continue to build upon the same key foundations that made FireHUD a success. In an ever-connected safety world, our customers need solutions that can deliver reliably in multiple settings, locations, and job functions. Opening the door with a larger brand presence allows us to do that.”

See you out there!

All the best,

-Zack
