Dear SlateSafety Customers, Partners, and Supporters,
Happy New Year!
As we kick off the new year, I am excited to reflect on 2025 and look into what 2026 has in store for SlateSafety, but before we get into SlateSafety’s accomplishments, I want to take a step back and reflect on “Why does SlateSafety exist?”
As most of you know, we started by working with local firefighters. Then, we won an Air Force contract to protect recruits from heat stress during intense, advanced training. From there, we met some highly talented individuals in the Department of Energy who helped us bridge the gap to industrial safety and taught us all about industrial hygiene—including the pain points for the safety professionals who work in these industries.
From these discussions with safety professionals, we believe there are better ways to keep workers safe. Safety professionals work long hours, are responsible for large numbers of workers or even entire sites, and are constantly inundated with urgent work. These professionals that my team and I have had the privilege of working with are all smart, hardworking, and knowledgeable, and also incredibly busy, even before being asked by management to implement AI.
The heroes in our story are the safety professionals, and our goal is to empower them with easy-to-use tools so that they can keep their teams safe. And now they can, with our real-time connected worker device, the BAND V2, and the BEACON V2 for environmental monitoring and its associated software platform. The BAND V2 is designed to prevent heat stress and support lone worker safety by providing safety professionals a simple way to monitor conditions or receive alerts by phone or email when an issue occurs.
This is why SlateSafety exists—to reduce the workload on safety professionals and just make safety technology modern, practical, and easy to use. In 2026, you shouldn’t have to walk across your entire plant just to check the WBGT reading! Our customers have shown us time and time again that current safety technology is outdated, unconnected, and difficult to use. We are simply here to change that by providing modern, practical safety technology that “just works”.
Now looking back on 2025 and into 2026, I am extremely grateful for the collective support, feedback, and loyalty that have brought us to this point. We hope to continue to be able to expand our offering through our iterative process of aligning customer feedback with engineering output.
2025 Achievements
- We alerted on over 122,000 safety events—over 5 times the previous year.
- 85% of these were for BAND V2 personal heat stress alerts with a 79% intervention rate.
- The alert thresholds were set using either their own custom safety limits or the built-in ACGIH heat stress standard available in the software. The majority were on core body temperature and HRLV.
- 11% were from the BEACON V2 for environmental conditions. This highlights the increasing utilization for real-time environmental monitoring—passing 43 million sensor readings this year.
- 4% from our lone worker suite, including Tap Alert, No Movement Alert and Fall Detection.
- You can see your organization’s specific breakdown on the Insights Page.
- 85% of these were for BAND V2 personal heat stress alerts with a 79% intervention rate.
- We’ve added numerous new features to the SlateSafety platform—it is hard to pick just three!
- Sites – This gives organizations a way to create a hierarchy that can help organize users and devices. It also allows comparisons across different sites on the Insights Page.
- Exposure Zones – Provides an easy way to classify the amount of time that a worker has been exposed to physiological or environmental zones. This is currently available on the History Page but will also be coming to the Insights Page in 2026.
- Sustained Alerts – Sustained alerts allow organizations to continually alert when a threshold has been surpassed and is staying surpassed.

While these are the top three features, we have implemented many more in the SlateSafety Portal. This has enabled greater customization than ever before, allowing the system to be tailored to your specific needs. As I mentioned earlier, we thrive on feedback, so please reach out to your account manager or email me directly at zack@slatesafety.com.
ICYMI, the SlateSafety team grew by three:
- Thomas Davis, Account Manager, focused on serving new and existing customers
- Sam Yuen, Software Engineer, focused on bringing SlateSafety Go and SlateSafety Portal new features.
- Travis King, Hardware Engineer, focused on new products.

SlateSafety’s Vision in 2026
This year, our focus is working directly with customers to provide feedback to our system and explore even more ways our solution can help prevent safety injuries across the globe. Here are some key areas and initiatives we plan to undertake:
- New Product Sneak Peek: We have been heads down engineering our next product and will be releasing it midway through the year. Now that the design has been solidified, we are talking with existing customers about the capabilities and how it can be tailored to their existing processes. Reach out to your account manager to learn more.
- We believe this product will be a disruptive move within the safety industry by being the first cellular-based environmental safety product. It will be a generational upgrade of the current BEACON V2—allowing safety professionals to simply check the SlateSafety Go application rather than walking across the site to read environmental conditions, such as WBGT, noise, and lighting. And there is still more to come.
- New Features: We are dedicated to continuous improvement and new features across all aspects of our platform. Specific areas we’re focusing on this year:
- Intrinsic Safety (Class 1 Division 1) certification, making the BAND V2 the first cellular-connected safety wearable to achieve this certification for hazardous areas.
- A weekly email with a summary of the week’s data
- New Physiological measurements of HRV, Fatigue, SpO2, and Respiratory Rate
- A Billing Tab that provides greater insight and planning to get ahead of the renewal periods for your account.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to every member of the SlateSafety community. Your passion, expertise, and feedback have allowed us to be where we are today, and where we are headed to an even bigger, safer 2026 and beyond.
Thank you for your trust, confidence, and continued support. Here’s to a year of innovation, growth, and making the world a safer place!
All the best,
-Zack
