SKC Inc. is excited to announce its official partnership with SlateSafety, a leading provider of reliable, rugged, and easy-to-use safety solutions for military, first responder, and heavy industrial applications.

SKC Inc., an Eighty Four, PA-based 60-year veteran in the manufacture and sale of occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) equipment, media, and instruments will act as a reseller for the award-winning SlateSafety BAND V2. This arm-worn monitor provides real-time physiological monitoring (heart rate, exertion levels, and core temperature) to alert both workers and OEHS professionals to the need for intervention before heat exposure injuries occur. This can optimize work/rest cycles for workers in extreme heat, which promotes safety and OSHA compliance while maintaining productivity.

Founded in 2016, SlateSafety is a technology startup based in Atlanta, GA at the edge of the Connected Safety revolution. The focus of the SlateSafety team’s mission is to put the worker at the center of safety and the next-generation BAND V2 does just that. Chris Ward, SlateSafety Vice President of Growth, expressed excitement about this new alliance. “This partnership provides the needed reach and expertise to our growing customer base [in multiple regions]. We’re excited to augment the top-level SlateSafety technology with deep [SKC Inc.] industry experience.”

The missions of both companies align: SlateSafety to provide robust easy-to-use safety solutions for heavy industrial applications and SKC Inc. to serve its customers and the industrial hygiene market with science in the service of people in the form of advanced safety technology.

The BAND V2 technology is an excellent addition to SKC’s extensive offerings in air, noise, and surface/dermal sampling and monitoring solutions. SKC Inc. Director of Sales, Andy Bragg, stated, “The addition of the SlateSafety BAND V2 heat exposure monitoring technology will add value for our customers, as we continuously search to find ways to help better protect them and their employees.” SKC Inc. Operations Manager Dan Baldauff, voiced his enthusiasm for this new partnership, “SKC customers expect quality and durable products that “just work.” Our partnership with SlateSafety will provide our customers with a rock-solid heat exposure monitoring solution to complement SKC’s broad range of products designed for the OEHS professional.”

SKC Inc. and SlateSafety look to this strategic partnership to bring even deeper industry knowledge, expertise, and innovative solutions to industrial hygiene and other OEHS professionals—achieving the ultimate goal of protecting the health and safety of workers.
